Lucknow: In the 21st National Book Fair held in Balrampur Garden, along with the literature of classic writers like Premchand, Bachchan, Bharti, Nirala etc., there is also a lot of new translated and critical literature. Teachers from Ayodhya and Sultanpur had come to the fair in search of such critical books.
While the series of book releases continued in the fair, writers like Shivmurti were also seen among the books at the stalls along with the event. In the Prakashan Sansthan, the new books on travel memoirs of Karn Singh Chauhan like America ki Yatras, Desh Deshantar, Korea, Bulgaria and Europe me Yatras were liked. Among the new books, there is a demand for Ivan Turgenev’s Shikari’s Diary, Andrei Platonov’s Imarat Ki Nibandh and Pablo Neruda’s poetry collection translated by Prabhati Nautiyal, Yehi Hai Saadi.
Apart from Kanak Tiwari’s famous book Samvidhan Ki Shinakht, critical books like Krishnadatt Paliwal’s Postmodern Discourse on Hindi Criticism and Indranath Choudhury’s Brief Review of Western Poetics were also available at Sasta Sahitya Mandal’s stall.
Among the new book publications, Devendra Satyarthi’s Lok Sahitya Aur Bharatiya Sanskriti in two volumes, Vijay Rai’s edited Hindi’s Post-Global Story Land and Hindi’s Major Post-Sixty Story Writers along with Kamal Kishore Goenka’s Premchand Sahitya Rachnawali are being liked by the enlightened readers.
On the literary stage, a round of poetry was held in collaboration with Malikzada Javed on behalf of Taqi Mir Foundation, while before that a spiritual ceremony was held on behalf of Arya Samaj. In the evening, on the occasion of the release of Virendra Yadav’s book Vimarsh and Vyakti written on contemporary ideological issues, mainly Shivmurti and the author expressed their views.
In the same sequence, Anoop Mani Tripathi’s satire collection Saanpko Ki Sabha was released and Anoop Mani also read short satires. Anil Kumar Srivastava’s book Shri Hari: Padya was released under the chairmanship of Padmashree Vidyavindu Singh and in the presence of writers Dr. Amita Dubey, Dr. Anil Mishra, Padmakant Sharma etc. amid their views. In the evening, under the aegis of Sahityakar Sansad and Naman Prakashan, an evening of ghazals in the name of Adhirajji was held under the chairmanship of writer Bholanath Adhiraj. Dr. Shobha Dixit, Rachna Mishra, Ramprakash Bekhud, Sarwat Jamal, Manish Shukla etc. presented their poems under the guidance of Naveen Shukla Naveen.
Amity University organized a mental health awareness camp in the fair premises. The students of the Department of Clinical Psychology, under the guidance of Assistant Professor Anshuma Dubey, not only made the book lovers who had come to the fair aware about mental health, but also provided solutions to problems like anxiety, stress, depression, drug addiction, etc. The students also presented a street play on this topic.
